The steps leading up to having such a life changing procedure done can be overwhelming, so Millennium is here to make this process as easy as possible! We are dedicated to making sure that every patient is well informed and comfortable throughout the whole LASIK process. The procedure itself is a simple process, proven to be very safe. The patient will need to undergo an initial consultation, eye exam, and lastly, booking! LASIK surgery is an option for most individuals who experience farsightedness, nearsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. To confirm your candidacy, specialized corneal mapping with Pentacam and Vario as well as corneal thickness measurements are taken. Before beginning the laser eye surgery process, our physicians will also want to know whether certain lifestyle factors might affect LASIK surgery results. These factors could include things like martial arts or swimming. See the following steps needed to ensure you are ready for LASIK!

-First, you will need to fill out the Online Consultation which can be completed from the comfort of your own home or office. The consultation will consist of a few different questions to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure.
-Millennium will then call you to schedule your appointment to come in for proper scans of your eyes in preparation for the procedure.
-Next, schedule an appointment with your eye doctor for a dilated eye exam.
-Lastly, book your procedure with Dr. Lessner!

After the procedure is complete, your Dr. Lessner will provide detailed instructions to follow to ensure safe healing and desired results! Some of the postoperative procedures will include using eye drops prescribed by your physician, eye shields at night, staying away from certain sports activities until your eyes are healed, refraining from eye makeup, and attending your follow-up appointments. Recovery time will range within a few weeks to a month.
